This includes The Blackfoot Confederacy, comprising the Siksika, Piikani and Kainai First Nations; the Tsuut’ina First Nation; and the Îyârhe Nakoda, including The Chinniki, Bearspaw and Goodstoney First Nations.
The City of Calgary is also home to the Metis Nation of Alberta, District 5 (Calgary Nosehill) & District 6 (Calgary Elbow).
We perform on this land where the Bow and Elbow rivers meet, known by the traditional Blackfoot Name of “Mohkinstsis” and now called the City of Calgary. We acknowledge the rich cultural history of Indigenous peoples who have shared their ancestors’ teachings and wisdom through music, and we honour all who live, work and play on this land.
